We guess the FBI is playing, “where is Waldo”, with Mayor Lucie Tondreau. Voters in the city of North Miami, elected Tondreau as their city’s first-ever Haitian-American female mayor last year. Now she is facing a federal indictment with three other suspects, all facing charges of conspiring to commit wire fraud and actual wire. The indictment was unsealed earlier this afternoonSo from what we are hearing, Tondreau, with the three other suspects are charged with defrauding over $7.5 million dollars in loans. It is also said that she used her very popular radio station whose main listeners is the Haitian community to obtain “straw buyers” by publically advertising her scheme as a business. Straw buyers (most unknowingly) are those who buy something on behalf of someone else in order to circumvent legal restrictions or enable fraud.
Now keep in mind that Tondreau has been suspected of ill doings from calming to be a North Miami resident to her association with a man recently charged with ballot fraud.
Now, where is Mayor Lucie Tondreau? Well, currently she is on official business at some retail convention in Las Vegas, NV. She is scheduled to come back from her official city business either Tuesday or Wednesday. Until then, the FBI are waiting on her return.
